Denton Corker Marshall

Set on the top of a small hill overlooking its vineyards and the Yarra Valley, a simple proposition of two long metal tubes – one made of Corten sitting on the ground and the other in matt black aluminium sitting somewhat precariously on top at right angles.

Internally the tubes have a second skin of grey-green stained OSB (oriented strand board) as a lining. Windows in the long metal sides are concealed behind perforated panels which in the case of the 10m wide living area glazing, a large section of the side of the Corten box lifts up in three sections to create sunshading to these windows facing north.
