Denton Corker Marshall

Denton Corker Marshall was invited by Allied London to participate in their limited design competition to submit concept proposals for two new-build PRS towers in their highly prestigious St John’s Development in Manchester. The site is located in the old Granada Studios and the towers will become part of the ‘sky’ living component of the approved Masterplan.

DCM were commissioned to develop our proposals based on our successful approach of creating a unique and characterful architecture which wholly aligned with Allied London’s aspirational intent for the development.

The towers are conceived as simple sculptural forms that sit side-by-side and read as a pair. The facades have the same detailed expression but are finished with different, though complimentary, coloured cladding panels, one in metallic copper and the other in metallic silver.

Each tower contains 305 one and two bedroom apartments over 33 upper floors. The lower two levels include resident’s amenity areas and a retail/commercial unit. Level 35 provides over 600m2 of additional resident’s amenity consisting of private dining rooms, a lounge, media room, outdoor dining wellness area and roof terrace.
