“Greengate” is a new landmark mixed use development located in the north-east of Salford and which sits close to the River Irwell that borders Manchester City Centre.
Greengate Phase 1 (Plot H/J) is a 50-storey Residential Tower over a 4-storey podium. The residential offer of 559 units includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments plus luxury and penthouse apartments which command a dramatic view over Salford and Manchester City Centre. A number of Townhouses, providing suitable accommodation for families, are located opposite a new public park being constructed as part of this development. In addition to the park, extensive resident amenity spaces are proposed within the building, the design of which is a collaboration between DCM and Interior Designer, Lister and Lister.
Entry into the building is through a dramatic triple-height space accessed directly off “The Boulevard”, a new urban thoroughfare that links the Masterplan site back towards Manchester City Centre. Denton Corker Marshall has developed the design of the building in accordance with the residential brand created by Renaker Build Ltd. It is seen as a destination development in this emerging residential area of Salford and, as the largest tower in Salford, it creates a dramatic and iconic new feature to the city.
Detailed planning approval was achieved (by others) in March 2020. Construction works on site are currently progressing with the anticipated completion date in mid-2023.
