DCM were one of the five finalists invited to develop concept proposals for the new Embassy and Ambassador’s Residence in Poland. Our design expressed the Embassy and the Residence as two distinct buildings which were of a different scale while of a coherent architectural expression. The buildings were developed as two pure ‘cubic’ forms, abstract objects resting on, and cantilevered from, a single storey masonry base. They were to sit as pavilions in a garden alluding to the memory of the existing Residence building.

Although we did not win the competition it was considered that our proposals were appropriate and sensitive to the site.
