John Rintoul studied architecture at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. His early design work experience was in London, working on major commercial projects in the City. In 1988 he moved to Hong Kong where he worked on a variety of major projects throughout Southeast Asia, including office buildings, hotels, luxury apartment buildings, and large-scale mixed developments.
John joined Denton Corker Marshall in Hong Kong in 1992 and continued to work on major prestigious commercial and hotel projects as a Project Associate. His role encompassed full project management-related skills and he has considerable experience with all stages of the project coordination, from design concept through to supervision of the construction works on site.
John was the Associate Director in charge of the Manchester Civil Justice Centre project, winner of the 2008 English Partnership Award for Sustainability, and 28 other prestigious design awards, including the RIBA National Award for Architecture. The project was nominated for the 2008 Stirling Prize.
With over 25 years’ experience, John is well versed in the design and delivery of major projects.
